Happy Friday everyone! It’s especially a happy Friday for me because it’s the last day of tax season, and for someone who works at a brokerage firm, today is basically confetti and streamers. This week has felt like a continuous punch in the guts with how busy and out of control it’s been, so I’m excited for weekend where I don’t have to hear about tax withholding, or have someone yell at me because they forgot to sign their own form (i.e. this Tuesday). Also, I have the Irving Half Marathon to run tomorrow. The forecast is showing rain in the morning, so I’m a little nervous as to how it will play out, but in the event I can’t run it I have a backup half I can possibly run early next month. We shall see! Until then though, let’s dig into some favorites from this week!
- The Mindy Project
The Mindy Project came back this Tuesday after what felt like a fifteen year hiatus, and I worked late duty that day so I got to watch it on my phone while I was at the gym! I won’t give away any spoilers, but I will say a montage set to Stevie Wonder’s cover of “We Can Work It Out” was put to perfect use, and I laughed, teared up, and experienced a blind rage throughout the entire thing. What I reveal though is that Ike Barinholtz is still the funniest person in the world and I live for Morgan Tookers. (Also, Martina have you watched it yet?? I can’t wait to hear your recap!)
- Bed time yoga
Given how crazy the past few weeks of work have been, my sleep has been thrown off a bit due to stress. In an effort to knock out some tension, and sleep better, I’ve gotten back into the swing of stretching before bed and it has made a world of difference! If any of you are having the same troubles, I cannot recommend Yoga with Adriene’s Bedtime routine enough (linked above). I’ve practiced it enough that I no longer need the video (#humblebrag) so I just get right into it about a twenty minutes before I get into bed, and then I am able to sleep soundly throughout the night!
- Latest Stitch Fix
My best friend Natalie recently started working as a stylist for Stitch Fix, and having someone that is 1) Your Bff 2) Lives downstairs (we are an actual Fox sitcom) 3) Your personal stylist – is quite honestly the best thing in the world. I received my first fix from her last week, and it was spot on! Next month I’ll actually carve out some time to take a photo of each piece she sends me so I can do an honest review, but the above photo is a top from this month and I love it! Stripes? Check. T-shirt that’s long in the torso? Double check. Something that goes with Keds? Check. Needless to say, she nailed it.
Well that was my week! I hope you all are having a happy and stress free Tax Day, and that the rest of your weekend is wonderful! I’ll see you back here on Monday, and hopefully will have a race recap to share!
