Happy Friday, party people! It is truly a miracle that I did not end this week by diving head first into a paper shredder, because every day has felt like someone has pressed the fast forward button on my life and everything was moving at a 120 mph. I don’t know what how fast a fast forward setting is supposed to go, or if it’s measured in mph, but if it was, I was living it. All of that being said, I am doing NOTHING this weekend besides eating chips and guacamole and watching the new season of House of Cards. God bless Netflix for knowing that I would finish Fuller House in two days and desperately need a new show to watch within a week’s time. Until I am home and watching Frank Underwood ruin someone’s life (probably Claire’s!!!), let’s review some favorites from this week, shall we?
- Trader Joe’s To The Power of Seven Juice
So fun fact about me, I was put on this earth to drink juice. Grapefruit juice? Hand it over. Orange juice? As long as there’s no pulp, fine by me. Banana juice? I don’t think that’s a thing, but I’ll try it! A couple weekends ago while out grocery shopping, I happened upon this juice at Trader Joe’s which is a blend of pomegranate. cherry, black mulberry, red grape, purple carrot, cranberry and blueberry juice, and it is a freakin’ delight. In my opinion, I taste mostly cherry juice, as it’s especially tart, but kudos to TJ for sneaking in some purple carrot in there and not tasting it at all! I wish it was packaged in a bigger bottle, because I could easily pop a straw in there and finish it in one sitting, but I’ll have to settle for buying multiple bottles at a time like a weirdo.
- Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil
My favorite section of Sephora is the sample size section of goodies in front of the checkout counter. In fact, most if not all of my Sephora purchases come from that section, and it is a true testament to my self control if I am able to walk out of there without having purchased $100 worth of 1 oz products. However, I went in to Sephora last weekend to pick up some BB cream and something (ANYTHING) that could help with an unruly frizz problem I’ve had going on lately. I did my research and settled on trying this Bumble and Bumble oil, except I knew the sample size was all I could afford, as a full size bottle is nearly $50 ( LOL). I’m not normally one to say expensive name brand products are the best (Anyone who has ever tried Aussie Three Minute Miracle knows that drugstore brands have it going on), but this stuff is amazing! Not only is my hair a lot softer, but my frizz problem has been dramatically tamed! This sample size was $11, and will probably last me a few months as it doesn’t take much to get the job done, but I think I’ve found a new holy grail product, y’all! You can also find it online here!
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg Coloring Book
Did you know that March is National Women’s History Month? Don’t know how to celebrate? Try exercising your artistic and feminist muscle with some Ruth Bader Ginsburg coloring pages! SheKnows.com has come out with free online printable coloring pages of Supreme Court Justice member Ruth Bader Ginsburg that are equal parts whimsical and awesome. I opted for a picture of RBG riding a unicorn in front of a rainbow. You can’t get any more empowering than that image. I colored RBG as a riot grrrl, but I’m still on the fence as to how I’ll portray on the unicorn. Updates to follow.
Phew. That’s a wrap for me! Tomorrow morning I’ve got a nine mile run to knock out (#halftraining), and then a binge watch of my favorite fictional president. I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll catch you back here on Monday!
