As someone who has been glued to 24 hour news reporting and my Facebook and Twitter feed, this week has felt 1000 years long. We are one week into a Trump presidency and I’ve logged a record number of eye roll induced migraines, and unfollowed more people on Facebook than I can count on fingers and toes. Phew. In the words of Liz Lemon, I I lie awake at night wondering what fresh hell tomorrow will bring me. What a freaking mess. I’m torn between wanting to dive into King George III style 52 hour rant about how everything is terrible, and we all need to be doing our part, and then also wanting to keep my tiny corner of the internet the one place that isn’t infested with political stress and all caps screaming. Clearly I need a weekend to manifest my thoughts into an actual post with a point (and I’m working on it!), but until the next train wreck, let me fill you in on this past week!
- So, despite my best efforts, I’m already losing at my New Year’s resolutions (in month ONE. Classic, me). Remember how I was going to go to yoga six times a month? I only hit 4. *Whomp whomp whomp* In my (only) defense, I’ve had a wonky work schedule this month, which has made going to the gym easier than finding a yoga class before or after work, but dangit I was so determined! I’m happy to report that my work schedule next month is WAY better, so let’s do this, February!
- This has nothing to do with anything, but someone in my apartment complex through an entire loaf of bread of their balcony (Here’s the pic). Was it done out of anger? Was it mistake? Did they just learn they have a gluten intolerance and suffer an impulse reaction? I need answers, and also someone to clean it up because my dog keeps trying to eat it on our walks.
- Speaking of, I’ve recently started going home on my lunch break so I can take the dog for a short walk after I eat. Someone who isn’t’ me and visits a vet instead of a doctor, was told that they need to drop five pounds, so we are currently participating in what I am deeming “Biggest Loser: Puppy Edition.” Currently trying to book Jillian Michaels for an appearance.
That’s it for my week! On the agenda for this week is errands, and then The Too Cold to Hold 5k on Sunday. I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday with a race recap!
