Hello and happy Friday! Also, happy first Friday of Fall! It’s still rather warm here, but that’s okay, at least all of the fun seasonal drinks and foods are in full force so I can at least pretend cooler weather is on it’s way. Speaking of seasonal drinks, I saw that Starbucks is now serving hot beverages in autumn inspired cups!
At first I thought people were just doodling on their cups and it was just becoming a really cool Instagram trend, but Grandma that I am, this is in fact not a trending topic, and an actual thing! I think sometime tonight or maybe tomorrow I’ll swing by for a hot tea just for the cool cup. Will I be sweating profusely because I am a moron drinking a hot beverage in the midst of 90 degree weather? Yes of course, but it’s Fall let me have this. Starbucks trends aside, let’s recap some other cool stuff I discovered this week, shall we?
- Slouchy Dolman Tunic from The Mint Julep
I have mentioned this online boutique on the blog a number of times before, but it truly is one of my favorite places to shop! A couple of weeks ago The Mint Julep was hosting an awesome sale where their slouchy dolman tunics were marked down to $24, so naturally I bought a couple because if there is anything I love more than comfortable clothes, it’s comfortable clothes on the cheap. The material is super soft and ultra comfortable and I would totally wear these every day if I could. Currently I am pairing them with jeans, but once cooler weather approaches I’m thinking that these will look great with some full length leggings and knee high boots!
- Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Had A Baby
I don’t normally care about celebrities procreating, but I am excited for these two. Namely because Adam Brody was my pretend boyfriend from like 2004 to 2008, and Leighton Meester is my personal style icon (next to Kimmy Gibler of course). Apparently they have named the baby “Arlo”, which is cute, but it makes me think of Argo, which makes me think of either cornstarch or Ben Affleck, neither of which I trust.
- Lisa Frank Life Advice
Found this today on my main source of encouragement and guidance, the Lisa Frank Facebook fan page, and of course it sings to every part of my soul. There truly is always room for improvement, but lord knows I’m leaving more room for pizza. Thanks Lisa!
- Lauren James Goodies
So remember when I posted earlier this on my long sleeve t-shirt frenzy? Yeah, totally caved and got one from the Lauren James website. Aside from just loving the shirt (will post next week after I have a chance to wear it), I am loving the cute little knick knacks I got with my purchase! It came with two stickers, one with the “LJ” logo, and another one titled “Styled Sweet”, and then a beer koozie! Cool goodies aside, it also shipped on time and came with a 10% coupon for my next purchase! A+ customer service, y’all.
That’s it for this week! I’m headed off for a date night with Jake, and a weekend full of running and relaxing. I hope you all have an awesome weekend, and I’ll catch you back here on Monday!
