Happy Friday! After a week of late shifts, dentist appointments (no cavities this time!), and general exhaustion, I am beyond relieved to see that this week has come to a close! I’ve got a weekend of chores ahead of me, and by chores I mean that I have to do something about my nails because I’ve been putting it off for nearly two months and wow does it show, also I am determined to organize my closet this week. It has grown into a monster beast of piles of clothes I intend to donate, and piles of junk I just need to toss. I’d rather that the cleaning from Hoarders just deal with this for me, but alas I do not have such a luxury at my disposal. Until then, let’s recap the good things I happened upon this week!
- Cravings by Chrissy Teigen
No one earth has a better social media presence than Chrissy Teigen. It may help that she’s a world famous super model, and oh bonus points for marrying actual earth angel, John Legend, but I love her mostly for her food posts on Instagram! She posts the most incredible looking food, all the while being stupid hilarious and I wish we were real life BFFs. I ordered her brand new cookbook, Cravings, earlier this week and it arrived yesterday and I can’t wait to read through it this weekend! The cookbook covers recipes from soups to toast, and approximately 500+ moments of me snorting out loud from laughter. I’m hoping to pick out a recipe sometime tomorrow so when I go grocery shopping on Friday I can try something out and share with you all later!
- Fuller House
Like anyone else who grew up in the early 90’s, Full House was a big deal (except for Jake who apparently never watched it????). My sister and I have seen every episode probably upwards of 40 to 50 times, and reference it all the time, well mostly just our favorite episode where Stephanie and her friends sing I Saw The Sign and do a TERRIBLE job (I cringe so hard every time that microphone falls over). When we learned that Netflix was bringing back the show with almost the entire original cast (*side eyes Mary-Kate and Ashley), obviously we were ecstatic. So much so that when it premiered today we both woke up at ungodly hours to watch it.
Keep in mind it is 7 am my time in this photo, and 5 am for my sister. We clearly have our priorities in line. I’m not sure how many episodes she got through, but I am currently on episode three and really enjoying it! It’s all the schmaltzy dad jokes from the original, but there’s a fresh element to it that I think may attract people who aren’t even die hard Full House fans (such exist??). I will say if you are going in for a heaping load of nostalgia, you will get it, and then some. I however really loved it’s nods and flashbacks to the original, and it even made me emotional at some parts! All in all, I say it’s a hit and I will definitely binge watch my way through it this weekend!
- Planner color schemes
I’m clearly scraping at the bottom of the barrel for favorites this month, but you guys, look at that presentation! I’ve found that I weirdly zone out and really relax when it comes to putting washi tape on paper, but it’s so much fun! This week I went with a mint green, pastel blue, and lavender color scheme and I wish my actual week was just as whimsical and calming, but I’ll settle for what I was trying to portray on paper.
That wraps it up for this week! I’m off for a lazy Friday night with Jake and Netflix. I’ll be logging more runs, and hopefully transforming my closet space this weekend, so I’ll let you know how that disaster goes on Monday. I hope you all have a great weekend!
