Yes, I will see myself out regarding the title of this post…
On Tuesday night Jake and I met up with his work friends for a trip to the holiday light show that is currently sweeping DFW and my Facebook “Interested in/Going to” timeline, Enchant! I have been seeing ads for Enchant for months, and have been super curious as to what it is all about. Is it just a bunch of lit up trees? (x1000) Can one actually get lit there? (Yes, there is booze!) Is it a Pink Floyd laser show? (Sadly, no) Is it a super fun festive activity? (YES!)
Upon walking in you are met with the most Instagram-worthy welcome sign known to man and two giant reindeer!
The main attraction is a “maze” (less like The Shining, and more like a pumpkin patch in terms of difficulty) where you are tasked with assisting Santa in finding his nine missing reindeer. Way to drop the ball, Santa.
You are handed a giant lotto scratch off and each giant well-lit reindeer you find has a station where you can scratch off your latest discovery.
Such as this thestral looking creature.
When you find all nine reindeer you are rewarded with a candy cane. Personally, I feel like Santa would have it in his budget for a larger prize, and quite frankly, I just helped save Christmas, so…
The second main attraction is this ice skating rink. It was nearly 80 degrees when we were there, so it mostly just a shallow pool.
Oh, and here’s a photo of me dressed like a moron for 80-degree weather.
Jake and I were too embarrassed to ask a stranger to take our photo, so we settled for this really dirty mirror inside of a tunnel of dangling string lights. The photo isn’t the best, but the string lights were super cool!
I have recently decided that I will be hiring a contractor to install this in my future backyard.
Goodbye, giant reindeer!
I personally thought it was a lot of fun, and if you are in the area I highly recommend going! If you can, try going on a weeknight, because there was hardly a crowd when we were there Tuesday night, nor was it running rampant with kids! Also, I’m an idiot and failed to take a picture of it, but they also had a cute Christmas market set up with local vendors, and a row of food trucks to check out! All in all, 10 out of 10 holiday activity!
Are you going to any local holiday attractions this year?
