How is the best of the year nearly over? I’m hardly ready for November. Next month is going to be crazy! Jake’s sister is due to have her baby early next month, then it’s Jake’s birthday, and then it’s Thanksgiving! More importantly though (and please don’t tell Jake’s sister’s bay this), next month (specifically November 25th) is Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life premiere, so I am going to emotional disgusting mess and will probably blog about it every week leading up to it. I apologize in advance. However, since October is winding down, I thought I’d catch you all up on what I’ve been up to this month! Here’s what’s been going on:
Based on how we are only a few days away from the end of this month, and I’m still only halfway through it, it looks like October is going to be the month where I only read one book! Can we go back to August when I had vacation time and devouring books every day? Good news though is that it is by Stephen King, so at least I’m crossing off a goal on my Autumn bucket list. Bad news though is that my Goodreads account is reminding me daily that I’m behind on my goal. I know, Goodreads. I know.
Speaking of Autumn bucket list goals, Jake and I went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend, and strangely enough we did not find a super busted pumpkin. How were those picked first?? We ended up with a nearly perfectly symmetrical pumpkin for carving, and a tiny a little white pumpkin that I may paint. I really wanted to paint one that would look like BB-8, but I neither have the time or the hand dexterity to pull that one off.
Is it just me or did everyone get married this month? According to my Facebook and Instagram, everyone I either went to high school or college with, or total randos I follow on social media have all gotten married this month. I think October may be the new June when it comes to weddings. Congrats to all of the happy couples! I hope you were all kind enough to have an open bar.
My British TV takeover is still in full swing. I’ve continued my love affair with The Great British Baking Show, and have finally started Doctor Who. I feel like by the end of this year I’ll qualify for dual UK citizenship after all of this British programming. Also, I’d love to hear from any Doctor Who fans in the comments! Who is your favorite doctor? Jake started me (he’s already watched it 1000 times) on Christopher Eccleston, but I just want to skip ahead and get to David Tennant!
I’m going to the Baylor vs UT game this weekend, so please look for me on TV desperately trying to win something from a t-shirt cannon. Also, fun fact: I went to a Baylor vs. UT game 3 years ago and Natalie Portman was in the stadium filming a movie (after a quick search online I am unable to find any movie involving Natalie Portman at the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium but I swear to God she was there. They showed her on the jumbo tron!).
I sent one of my best friends who recently moved to Shanghai a birthday present and it was confiscated by the Chinese government. And no I did not send them drugs. What was it? A calendar with stupid pictures of us from the past 12 years. I’m sorry that you hate friendship, China!
I am handful of days from Halloween and I am still undecided as to whether or not I should dress up for work next Monday. Last time I did that everyone thought I was a cowboy cat, so maybe not.
What are you most looking forward to next month? (And is it Gilmore Girls???)
