Hello and happy Wednesday! I received my August installment of my monthly Stridebox subscription last night, and I’m super psyched to share what all I got! For any of my Stridbox newbies out there, Stridebox is monthly box subscription service that delivers fun pre and post workout snacks and drink mixes, along with some running themed accessories. Feel free to paruse some of my past Stridebox reviews, and definitely make sure to check out their website!
This month’s box included:
- Amrita – Energy – Mango Coconut
- Crank Sports – E-Gel – Mountain Rush
- Honey Stinger – Energy Chew – Grapefruit
- First Endurance – Ef’s Pro – Cucumber Water
- Pure Clean Powder – Organic Beet Juice Powder
- Sportea – Daily Energy Tea
- Dr. Hoys – Natural Pain Relief Gel
- All Good Sunscreen Stick – Unscented
Most pumped about trying:
Sportea! As a habitual tea drinker (2 cups a day, 4 in the winter), I was excited to see a tea sample in this month’s box! I don’t normally associate a hot cup of tea with running or exercise, but Sportea apparently offers a boost of energy, whilst relieving stress! I could use all of the energy and stress relief I can get when the afternoon rush rolls around at work, so I’m think I may try this out after lunch tomorrow. Work your magic, Sportea!
I am wary about trying:
Beet juice? I am not a huge fan of beet juice to begin with, and quite frankly I still associate with that band from the cartoon series Doug (KILLERRRR TOFUUUUU). I know beets are supposed to be crazy good for you, but I just can’t get past that dirty sock odor and garbage taste. I’ll be fair though and give this a shot. If all else fails, at least we got to throw it back to a Doug reference.
I will gladly eat all of these:
I am a big fan of Honey Stinger products, and an even bigger fan of Grapefruit. Put the two together and you have a better marriage than Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (that’s a lie, no one is better than them). I’m gonna hang on to these until my next run, but I may need to hide them from myself out of fear that I’ll snack on them before I even get out the door!
Mini version of something I super needed:
As someone who doesn’t want to wind up looking like George Hamilton by the time I’m 30, I am big advocate of sunscreen and SPF. That being said, given that is CRAZY hot out here, my sunscreen is prone to melting off very quickly into my run or being outdoors. As much as I would love to tote around a full sized bottle of sunscreen, I think I’ll pass now that I have this handy dandy item. The only feature I wish it had was a loop for attaching to keys, but I can work with it!
I’m pretty impressed with this month’s box! A little low on the snack options, but to be honest I prefer testing out the drink powders and mixes a lot more. I’ll keep you posted if anything else from the box turns out to be a super hit! Spoiler alert: probably not going to be the beet juice…
