Hello, and happy Wednesday! It’s a new month, which means new goals and new recaps! Last month’s post I detailed what I hoped to have accomplished and what I had achieved/not achieved for the previous month, and I did pretty well! It wasn’t a home run per say (curse you, patio goals!), but I did my best! This month is pretty much the same, two out of three, so I basically won, right?
Log 50 Miles – Done and done!
I thought for sure I’d come up short on this one, and I almost did…but I did it! I had a setback in the middle of the month where I had to take 4 days off from running due to being extremely sore after a kettle bell class, so I had to squeeze in a little over 20 miles for the last week of June. Thankfully, I was late duty at work for the last week of the month, so I was able to hit the gym in the mornings to knock out my miles, rather than having to go at the end of the day when I’m the least motivated. It blows my mind that some runners can long 50 miles a week with no problem. More power to you guys!
Try New Meal Prep Lunches – Affirmative!
Would you believe if I told you that I found lunch inspiration from Drew Barrymore’s Instagram posts on what she has been packing for her kid’s camp lunches recently? Because I did. I totally did. I am all for meal prepping if it involves little to no actual cooking, so when I stumbled upon Drew’s lunch post involving salami, cheese cubes, mixed nuts, strawberries, and cucumbers I knew I had a winner. I did swap the pretzel sticks for blueberries for an additional serving of fruit, but I am loving it! Also, I had purchased a set of meal prep lunch containers from Amazon back in October, and three have already cracked and have had to be tossed into the trash, so I may have also purchased the same lunch box she posted because 1. It’s adorable and 2. I need something that won’t have to be thrown out in a few months!
Grow My Instagram – Looooool nope.
Y’all, my progress on this goal is so abysmal it’s funnier than it is sad. I went from 465 to 479. Granted, I can’t say that I worked terribly hard on this one. I did try out a few new hashtags, and I’ve found that my running photos are definitely my least popular posts, but I’m running normally four days out of the week…so I’m not quite sure what else to talk about on Instagram. I really love the runner’s community on Insta, and I’ve love to be a part of it, so I don’t think I’ll dial it back with the running posts. It may not get me many likes or follows, but it helps keep me motivated! Not every day is beautifully curated flat lay for me (or really any day for that matter), and that’s okay!
While I’m fine with running 10ks outside (well, not in this heat but you get me), I have yet to surpass 5 miles on the treadmill! A normal 5 miles on the treadmill normally takes me about 58 minutes, so I’m thinking a 10k would put me around like an hour and ten minutes? I’ll probably have to save it for a weekend since I’m normally pressed for time on my weekday runs, or if I am running after work I normally don’t feel as nimble, but I definitely think it’s do-able!
Share a New Recipe
I haven’t shared a recipe on the blog in forever (some of my favorites are posted here)! I’d love to concoct a new smoothie recipe for Summer. Now that I’m super into coffee, maybe some sort of cold brew protein smoothie? Aaaaand I’m off to the grocery store…
I have completely abandoned my Friday Finds posts, and I miss it! I feel like I haven’t had enough items/random things to share on a weekly basis, but maybe I could split into categories (beauty, running, movies/TV)? Clearly I need to brainstorm this one a little longer, but lemme know what you think!
What are your goals for July?
