Hello and happy Friday! I haven’t shared a Friday Finds post on the blog in what seems like forever, and in light of happening upon some cool things the past couple of weeks I thought it was a good time to share it with all of you! Also I hope your definition of “cool” is the same as mine or you are about to be seriously let down because I am about to spend an entire post raving about smoothies, British crime dramas, and vegan bracelets. This week was a bit of mess to be honest. Jake and I’s have been battling a ridiculous A/C unit and a ceiling leak that just won’t quit and our apartment complex seems to be ghosting us Tinder style and ignoring all of our maintenance requests. Jake and I’s work schedules this week has made it impossible to go to the front office ourselves, so hopefully we’ll get it fixed this weekend! In the mean time though, let’s focus on things that aren’t falling from my ceiling, shall we?
I debated dedicating a whole recipe post to this one or not, but figured y’all are probably seeing some sort of variation of this on Pinterest every 20 seconds, so I figured it wasn’t worth it. For anyone super curious and/or doesn’t feel like checking Pinterest, the recipe is as follows:
- Unsweetened coconut milk (eyeball it to where it looks like enough for you)
- Pumpkin puree (I do about 4 or 5 tablespoons)
- 1 banana
- A sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg, and two cloves.
Blend it up and you have Thanksgiving for breakfast! I think I may pick some vanilla protein powder to make it more filling, and also maybe a more appropriate glass as well.
The title of my pretend upcoming Autobiography, “Late in The Game”, should feature this, but I am just now getting hooked on British television. It started last month when Jake and I watched The IT Crowd, and when that ended and watching a TV show without a British accent felt wrong, we moved onto Broadchurch. I have absolutely no background on Dr. Who other than watching one episode years ago, but I understand that David Tennant is a big deal, and I totally see why! Broadchurh season one focuses around the mysterious murder of a boy in small town, and the coupling of the ripple effect it has on his family, and the highs and lows of the investigation. We finished season one the other day, and MAN did I not see that end coming. Season two so far has been a bit of slow burn, but I’ve been told it really picks up and finishes with the same intensity as season one. P.S. this show is on Netflix, so go watch it! Also, if you have any other British TV recommendations, please send them my way!
Unless you didn’t catch my Instagram post from earlier this week, I have a new favorite bracelet and a super cool discount to share with you guys! I am not a big jewelry fan to be honest. The cruelty-free and vegan based jewelry company, Mieroglyphs recently reached out to me to share their product on Instagram, and I loved it so much that I’m sharing it on the blog too! The extent of my accessorizing is almost always pearl (lol, they’re from Target) earrings, my watch, and in the Fall, a scarf. I have a fun tendency to breakout into hives when wearing certain metals or plastics, so I normally just keep it simple in order to not look like I am constantly looking like a tomato. That being said, after wearing my Mieroglyphs bracelet for a couple of weeks, I can happily report that I’ve had zero allergic reactions, and I hardly ever take it off! I opted for their “Naked Gold” bracelet, and I love that it goes with everything! I added a special inscription of my Grandparent’s old address to make it a little more meaningful as well. If you are interested in shopping their jewelry (they have dog collars too!), check out their website and save 10% off by using the code ‘MALLORY10’ at checkout!
I hope you all have a great weekend! I am running the That Dam 5k (best name ever) this Sunday so I’ll be back Monday with a brand new race recap! Other than that I am hoping to finish Broadchurch and completely adopt a British accent by the end of this weekend. Cheers!
