I’m officially back from my mini blog break! I’m started off this week by testing out my new format; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday posts, so let’s see how this goes! Kicking things off this week, I’ll be recapping the Too Hot to Handle 5k race I ran this past Sunday hosted by Run Project! It was my fourth year running the race in the Norbuck Park section of Dallas, and thankfully the race wasn’t really “too hot” and the weather was pretty reasonable for July!

The course took place mostly on park sidewalk, and at one point, for probably no longer than a tenth of a mile, on trail and rocks! Thankfully the mini off roading part didn’t last for two long, but the majority of the trail cruised along smooth pavement, and there were very little (hallelujah!) inclines! Also, there were several Dallas Police officers on duty patrolling the race, and before the race all of the participants took in a moment of silence for the tragedy that took place in downtown Dallas last Thursday, and then we all got to smile, wave, and even high five and thank the officers that were positioned along the course. It was wonderful to see everyone show their support, and I’m happy I got to thank an officer while I was there.
