Well folks, we made it to June. Much like how every conversation starts with someone in the break room at work, I’m not sure where the month went! You may remember earlier last month I posted a list of goals I wanted to accomplish for the month of May, in which I only put together a “list” of three, but hey it’s baby steps people. Gotta keep it simple if you wanna prove to yourself that you can go big. I don’t know what that means. I probably read that off a poster in my guidance counselor’s office in high school, but I guess it kind of works? Anyways, May is over so it’s time to share whether or not I met my goals for the month. Let’s take a look!
- Financial Goal$ – Nailed it!
I can proudly say, that with the exception of signing up for a 10k, and for Blog Boss Babe, I made zero online purchases this month! I extended the personal bet out to delaying Stitch Fix and Blue Apron subscriptions as well, and boy did I notice a difference with my bank account! I may continue this goal with the rest of the summer because the payoff (pun intended) was well worth it!
- Have a “perfect week” according to my Apple Watch – Not so much…
I’ve already expressed my frustration with how impossible it is to achieve anything on this watch, but I tried two weeks in a row and still came up empty! I’d have days where my calorie and exercise goal were met, but I was two hours off for stand goal, or days where the watch wouldn’t count my exercise minutes at all. The watch seems to really have a real issue with the “Outdoor walk” setting because every time we take the dog for a walk, which on a good day can go for a little over a mile and around half an hour, the watch only logs like six minutes worth of the activity. We can have dead celebrities perform via hologram, but we still can’t perfect the GPS systems with watches and phones. What gives, Apple??
- Actually recap my goals the following month – Nailed it!
I’m pretty sure this post counts.
I wish I could say that I knocked out all three goals, but two out of three isn’t so bad! I mean, I did set the bar pretty low with the financial goals and a recap post, but I wanted to start small since I was holding myself accountable on the internet and everything. I mean, I would have loved to have included “learn how to cartwheel” but I learned a long time ago that I don’t have the hand and eye coordination for that, and I would have died just for the sake of this blog. I promise next month’s goals will vary in difficulty, but I’ll throw in a safety just for good measure (ex: Stay alive!). I’m still compiling that list of goals for June, so look out for that post next week!
