For the first time ever in Mallory Can’t Even history, I am sharing a face mask recipe! I tried this one out over the weekend, and loved how simple, and best of all, cheap, it was to throw together! So round up your ingredients, and let’s have the most low key spa day of all time.
- One half avocado
- Juice of half a lemon
- Drizzle of honey
Okay, so why am I putting this garbage on my face?:
- The natural oils in avocados are excellent for moisturizing, while lemon can help brighten and even tone, and honey is mother nature’s antibacterial, so it’s great for breakouts.
- Mash ingredients with a fork until you reach a smooth consistency (unlike actual guacamole, the less chunks, the better). Unless you are using the mask immediately, go ahead and cover bowl with plastic wrap (or a lid. I don’t know your life) and refrigerate. If you’re ready to smear some guac on your first, go ahead and apply your mask liberally, and sit back for 15-20 minutes. Rinse and cleanse once you are through, but I recommend rinsing your face in the kitchen sink so you don’t clog up your bathroom or bath tub drain with avocado. I don’t wish plumbing problems on anybody, speaking as one who once had to unclog an overflowing toilet alone…in a dorm bathroom. Good times.
Have fun with this face mask! The best part of this is that while you’re rocking your green face, you can use your leftover avocado half to make real guacamole! Who says you can’t have it all?
